Impt Software for computer idiots

I realise tat not a lot of ppl know wat software is required for the usual internet surfing n gaming. Jus bought a notebook recently cos my desktop keeps giving me problems.. jus in case I do not hv a computer to use. N realli suay suay, my desktop died on the day I decided to go for the PC show... haha. thinking back, it's so so so coincident!

B4 using my laptop, I kinda re-format my desktop once every 2-3months. Mainly, I wanted to keep the free 3-mths norton antivirus =p. I guess many ppl told me tat it's so troublesome to re-format their PC.. but tis keep my pc free from spyware, adware, etc.. cos I m a P I R A T E mah..... well, the impt software which I recommend to my family n frens r:

1) divx player - get divx codec. Very impt as these codec r required to watch various video format. Comes with player too, but I prefer the real alternative player layout
2) real alternative - can watch almost all video format. If tis doesn't work, try vlc
3) vlc - another video player, my 2nd choice.
4) Java - for internet banking mostly
5) Adobe flash player 9 - for watching online anime or video clips.. like naruto n bleach =)
6) Winrar - compatible for opening all compressed files. trust me tis is free n good
7) Star downloader - free, very good download software which u can continue ur dl if it's disconnected. tested n proven!
8) live messenger - msn messenger, nv like the original one which comes with windows xp.. super lousy....
9) shock wave player - hmmm... forgot the name, but I install it so tat my nephew Kyan can play his cartoon network games.. =X
10) Nero - disk-burning program. If u r using notwbook, tis is not required as most notebooks oredi hv the burning program installed. Nero from web r the trial version. if u need it, let me know, as I hv the non-trial version..

All above r the programs which I will always install for my PC. If u r thinking of cleaning up ur PC, try my way yourself, see how it goes. Not the best, but still reasonable to keep ur activities going.

Very unpredictable week.

Tink some of u hv heard about my misfortune...

My desktop which I set up in Aug 2005 died on the day I wanted to go PCshow.. is tis a warning or indication, telling me to buy a new comp? so so so faint lor........

Anyway, I bought tis Acer notebook with 5 years extended warrantry by Best Denki tat day, jus in case my desktop cannot b saved..

As for my new notebook, very satisfied with my bargaining. haha. I got a free all-in-one printer, toshiba 4Gb flash, Skype ear piece and 1 year Trend internet security. I traded off the printer for $80, muahaha, so happy.

I like the 14" screen, 15" is about 0.3Kg heavier, so tis size shd b jus nice. I bought a notebook cooling pad, which has a big fan underneath. Acer notebooks r designed in such a way tat the internal fan actually blows hot air out from underneath. With tis cooling pad, I can help cool my notebook effectively

Hav been using my sony ericson phone camera to take pics for the past 2 months ever since Megan was born. Sis needs the camera, so I decided to get one of my own. Set my eyes on canon all the while since I always like their models. So finally got tis IXUS 860 IS from Maureen's fren shop, which gives the essentials, with $59 off as compared to the PCshow price.

Sis helped me take a pic of me carrying Megan. She's so cute! haha. I mus try to get a pic of her asap, since she is short of a 2 months old pic. Time to use my new camera! Hee.
